Brief history of me - I was born in Brackwede, Germany of Ukrainian parents many years ago (well, maybe not that many...). We immigrated to a small town in Saskatchewan while I was a toddler. I grew up and received my education (civil engineering) in Saskatchewan. I did work a bit in Saskatoon for a consultant, but felt the tug of the Yukon (spent 3 summers as a student here) and moved to Whitehorse in the late 70’s. I married a local lady and together we raised our three children in the very best place on this planet. I worked in the transportation design and construction field throughout Yukon until I retired in 2009. After a decades long hiatus, I re-introduced myself to photography as a hobby in my retirement.

Photography interests - I first got into photography in the early 70s with a Nikkormat FTN. I did my own BW developing and some Cibrachrome as well. At retirement, I joined the local Photography club and took a Photoshop beginner course. My current equipment includes a Nikon D500, Nikon D7100, Nikkor 70-300VR (4.5-5.6), Nikkor 50 (1.8), Nikkor 35 (1.8), Nikkor 300 (4.0) with a couple TC’s, older Nikkor 105 macro (2.8), Sigma 18-200 OS (3.5-6.3), Tokina 11-20 (2.8), Tamron 150-600 G2 (5-6.3), Nikkor 16-80VR (2.8-4), a Nikkor 500mm (4.0G), extension tubes, and other minor accessories! I also have a SB600 Speedlight, a Vanguard 264AT tripod, a PhotoClam 3440PL tripod, and a couple ball heads. My post work is done with a 27" iMac with 3+ ext HD, Epson R2880 printer, and PS and LR. A small scanner to scan many of my old slides - when I get time - rounds out my equipment. My interests generally tend to landscape and nature photography with some architecture. I am mainly self taught so tips and c/c greatly appreciated! That's about it. Suggestions on anything welcomed.
